The University

Tezpur University was established by an Act of Parliament in 1994. The objectives of this Central University are to offer employment-oriented and interdisciplinary courses to meet local and regional aspirations, focusing on science, technology, and emerging research areas.

The Centre (CMDR)

Established in 2020, the Center for Multidisciplinary Research (CMDR) enhances education through PhD and PG Open Elective Courses. In 2023, the MoE awarded it a Multidisciplinary IKS Centre titled 'Exploring Knowledge on Medieval Assam'.

Department of Design

Under the School of Engineering, this new department prepares technocrats for an "Atmanirbhar Bharat" by integrating Design Thinking into engineering. By adding a human-centric focus, it bridges the gap between technical functionality and user-led innovation across UG and PG programmes.
